April’s top performer led Woodland FC to strong league standing with 4 goals, 5 assists

The Select League is proud to announce Woodland FC midfielder Federico Verlicchi as the Player of the Month for April, marking the first time the award has been given in the league’s history.

Verlicchi was a dominant force throughout April, registering 4 goals and 5 assists in just 5 matches, playing a pivotal role in Woodland FC’s rise to second place in the league standings. His creative flair, vision, and finishing touch helped drive the club to an impressive 4-1-1 record, with Woodland emerging as one of the early contenders in this second season.

A product of the Hellas Verona FC academy in Italy, Verlicchi brings high-level European experience to the heart of Woodland’s midfield. His technical ability and leadership on the pitch have not only elevated his team's performance but also set a standard for excellence across the league.

"Ever since we first saw him at our tryouts, we knew he was an outstanding player. What we've learned is what an outstanding man he is. It's easy to see why he's been a captain on quality teams. Like us, he cares about excellence, and holds himself to high standards," said Woodland owner Ross Harris. "He's what we look for in every Woodland player."

As the Select League continues to grow, individual excellence like Verlicchi’s will be a key part of building the league’s competitive identity. With his performance in April, Verlicchi has laid down a marker—and the race for May’s honors is officially on.
